The first Danish American Farms opened 26 years ago at Parthenia Street and Woodley Avenue in Van Nuys. ``It's taken us this long to find a location that's conducive to what we do,'' Simon said. ``That's the kind of neighborhood we want to be in - not to mention that both my partner and myself live out here.'' Simon said he has lived in Simi Valley two years and Lawrence has been here about eight years. The new Danish American Farms will feature a 90-foot-long meat department with $200,000 in meat inventory, Simon said. It also will stock fresh produce, with much of the fruit and vegetables coming from Ventura County fields. The Danish American Farms market will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. |
