DANCEAFRICA '99 IN BROOKLYN.


Ballethnic (right), Mizizi, The Ishangi Family Dancers, and thirty students from the Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Project are part of DanceAfrica '99: Hear the Music and See the Rhythm at Brooklyn Academy of Music Brooklyn Academy of Music, performing arts center located in the borough of Brooklyn, N.Y. and popularly known as BAM. Founded in 1859 and opened in 1861, it is the oldest such institution still in operation in the United States. , May 28 to 31. In addition to performances at the BAM Bam (bäm), town (1996 pop. 70,100), Kerman prov., SE Iran, on the intermittent Bam River. Located on the western edge of the Dasht-e Lut, Bam is a trade center in a henna-growing region. Dates and other fruits are also grown; camels are raised.  Opera House, the BAM parking lot will be transformed into the DanceAfrica Bazaar.
