DANCE LESSONS LEAD TO JAMBOREE.

VALENCIA - The Hometown Jamboree Reunion committee will offer free dance lessons Wednesday nights this month in preparation for the Hometown Jamboree Reunion on Aug. 30 in Sand Canyon.

The lessons, which start this week, will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at the home of Ron and Shawnee Dixon to prepare dancers for the event that is a memorial to the late Cliffie Stone Cliffie Stone (March 1, 1917 in Burbank, California – d. January 17, 1988) was a country singer, musician, producer, and music publisher.

Son of Herman the Hermit, Stone was known during his generation for his struggle to bring California's country & western music into
 and Voyl ``Rig'' Riggins.

Hosted by the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Health Foundation, proceeds from the jamboree will go toward expansion of the Emergency Department at Newhall Memorial.

The dances to be taught include the Boot Scootin' Boogie "Boot Scootin' Boogie" is a single, released in 1992, by the American country music duo Brooks & Dunn.

The single was the duo's fourth release, as well as their fourth consecutive Number One single on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts.

Highlighting this year's entertainment will be Simply Marie and her Canyon Country Cowboys.

Tickets for the 7 p.m. celebration are $100 per person, $150 per couple and $750 for a table of 10. Early ticket sales will include the free dance lessons. For information, call (661) 253-8082.
