DAN P. ABERCROMBIE JOINS METROPOLITAN FEDERAL AS SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF BRANCHES

 SEATTLE, June 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Metropolitan Federal Savings and Loan Association of Seattle (NASDAQ: MSEA) today announced that Dan P. Abercrombie has been named senior vice president and chief savings officer.
 Abercrombie brings with him over 20 years of experience in mortgage banking and residential construction lending, having most recently served at Security Pacific Bank as vice president involved in the production and administration of residential construction loans, guidance lines, land acquisition and development loans, and total borrower banking relationships.
 From 1983 to 1990, Abercrombie served as a vice president and manager at United Bank (later Security Pacific Savings Bank), where he was responsible for production and administration of all residential construction and development lending, administration and underwriting of all real estate joint ventures.
 For the past year, he has been a real estate developer and consultant, and served as chief executive officer and chairman of an industrial paint contracting company.
 A 15-year resident of Sumner, Wash., Abercrombie graduated from Puyallup High School, received a degree in business administration from Central Washington University, and graduated from Northwestern University's school of mortgage banking in the graduate school of management.
 Abercrombie currently heads up the Daffodilians, a civic group that supports Pierce County's annual Daffodil Festival. He is also the immediate past national director of the National Association of Homebuilders and is a director of the Building Industry Association of Washington.
 Metropolitan Federal is an FDIC-insured, federally chartered savings and loan association organized in 1935 with seven branches in the greater Puget Sound area.
