DAMES & MOORE SIGNS MULTIMILLION DOLLAR MASTER TASK SUBCONTRACTS FOR IDAHO NATIONAL ENGINEERING LABORATORY

 LOS ANGELES, Oct. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Dames & Moore (NYSE: DM), international engineering and environmental consultants, recently signed four master task subcontracts with EG&G Idaho Inc. for environmental and waste management technical support services at the U.S. Department of Energy's Idaho National Engineering Laboratory (INEL). The three-year contracts with two option years are expected to yield $3 million to $4 million per year for the company.
 Dames & Moore was awarded a contract in each of the following technical areas: hazardous wastes, low-level radioactive wastes, mixed wastes, and industrial/sanitary wastes. Under the general services contract, the company will provide a range of services involving regulatory assistance; waste classification and characterization; disposal site selection; alternative disposal technologies assessment; hazards classification; reduction, reuse, and recycling of waste; and human health and environmental risk assessments.
 Current work proceeding under the contracts includes a risk assessment for subsurface organic contamination and an environmental assessment of various clean-up activities. Dames & Moore has been performing similar work at INEL for the past three years under an earlier master task subcontract with EG&G Idaho Inc.
