DAMES & MOORE NAMES DR. PETER G. ROWLEY MANAGING DIRECTOR OF ITS INTERNATIONAL DIVISION

 LOS ANGELES, March 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Dames & Moore (NYSE: DM), international environmental and engineering consultants, has named Dr. Peter G. Rowley, 42, a senior vice president of the company and managing director of its International Division, effective March 27, 1993.
 Rowley, who is based in Dames & Moore's London office, has served as general manager of the company's Europe, Africa and Mid-East Region since 1991. He is a specialist in environmental assessment, hazardous waste management, and environmental and industrial chemistry, with over 18 years' experience. Rowley joined Dames & Moore in 1979 and was elected to the company's former limited partnership in 1984. He has been a member of Dames & Moore's board of directors and has served as manager of Dames & Moore offices in Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne, Australia.
 Before joining the firm, Rowley was a Fulbright Fellow and associate professor in chemistry at Colorado State University. He earned a Ph.D. in chemistry and a B.S. (Honors) in science from the University of New South Wales in Sydney.
 He is a member of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute, the American Chemical Society, the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, and the Australian Water and Wastewater Association.
 Dames & Moore is a worldwide professional services company, providing comprehensive environmental and specialized consulting and engineering services. The company had gross revenues of $357.5 million in fiscal year 1992 and maintains offices and affiliates throughout the United States as well as 19 other countries.
