technology. The Agreement spans a period of three years and calls for the two companies to cooperate broadly and share the results of the research and development efforts. Both organizations will market resulting products independently, with SI concentrating on integrated CMOS sensor devices and DALSA marketing both sensors and electronic cameras employing the technology.

technology and broaden DALSA's market base in its traditional industrial market sector. DALSA intends to be a world leader in CMOS image sensor technology for high performance industrial applications. Semiconductor Insights has a wealth of experience in semiconductor design and analysis, device physics and image processing, which complements DALSA's extensive technical skills in optics, microelectronics and electronic camera design.

Dr. Chamberlain was a pioneer in CMOS imager technology in the late 1960's and early 1970's and worked closely with major international corporations on practical development of the initial technology. He continues to be a recognized world expert in the field of optical imaging, holds numerous patents and has authored many technical papers in this area.

Semiconductor Insights' President and CEO, Dr. Doug Smeaton, is quoted as saying: "We are very pleased to be working with DALSA, a recognized world leader in optical image technology. We believe that the unique blend of skills both partners bring to this collaboration will create real innovation in this important emerging technology. SI will be implementing the capability and infrastructure to provide both standard and customer-specific integrated CMOS imaging devices, to enable a wide range of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  applications."

DALSA is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and marketing of image sensor and electronic camera products. DALSA's CCD (charge-coupled device) image sensors and electronic cameras provide advanced technological solutions for a broad range of industrial vision applications, including postal inspection and sorting, document scanning, cheque/banknote scanning and electronics inspection. DALSA is a publicly traded company publicly traded company

A company whose shares of common stock are held by the public and are available for purchase by investors. The shares of publicly traded firms are bought and sold on the organized exchanges or in the over-the-counter market.
