DALLY DISCUSSED WIFE'S ABDUCTION BEFORE FACT CONFIRMED, COURT TOLD.

Just hours after his wife vanished from a Ventura shopping center shopping center, a concentration of retail, service, and entertainment enterprises designed to serve the surrounding region. , a former Target store security agency, said in recalling Dally's words after Sherri Dally disappeared May 6, 1996.

And when Sherri Dally's sister found the woman's abandoned van in the Target parking lot, Michael Dally ``said something along the lines of, `She is messing everything up,' '' Avila said.

Prosecutors accuse Dally of masterminding the kidnapping kidnapping, in law, the taking away of a person by force, threat, or deceit, with intent to cause him to be detained against his will. Kidnapping may be done for ransom or for political or other purposes.  and slaying of his wife so he could be with his longtime lover, Diana Haun, without having to go through a divorce. He is charged with murder, kidnapping and conspiracy, along with special allegations that could make him eligible for the death penalty if he is convicted.

Although Dally seemed concerned at the time about the fate of his wife, Avila said, he never joined volunteers in searching for the missing mother of two. Nor did Dally show much emotion during a memorial service for Sherri Dally, whose dismembered body was found May 30, 1996, in a ravine near Ventura.

Avila also recalled that when he and his former schoolmate spotted each other in traffic, Dally seemed not mournful mourn·ful
