College of the Canyons College of the Canyons is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state. According to the National Junior College Research Association, College of the Canyons consistently ranks in the top 50 community colleges in the nation.

The Master's College History
The Master's College was founded as Los Angeles Baptist Theological Seminary on May 25, 1927 to meet the need for a fundamental Baptist school on the West Coast.
 

By sweeping a doubleheader against Concordia on Saturday, the baseball team is in first place in the Golden State Athletic Conference The Golden State Athletic Conference is a college athletics conference in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The conference commissioner is Dr. Cliff Hamlow of Azusa Pacific University. Conference leadership is shared among the member institutions.  for the first time since joining the conference two years ago.

Canyon

The football team finally has filled its nonleague schedule for next season by adding Etiwanda in Week 3 at Canyon - the Cowboys' only home game before Foothill League competition begins.

Canyon, which finished 10-2 and advanced to the Southern Section Div. II quarterfinals last year, eliminated Etiwanda in the first round of the playoffs last year.

Hart

Former baseball standout Andrew Lorraine, who has been in and out of the major leagues the past 10 years, got off to a good start for Dodgers affiliate Triple-A Las Vegas on Sunday. He went six innings and allowed four hits and two earned runs while striking out seven in a victory over Salt Lake City.

Saugus

Football coach Ron Hilton has been named co-athletic director, effective next fall, replacing Teri Lord. Lord oversees girls' athletics and Casey Burrill oversees boys' athletics, but Burrill said when Hilton joins the staff, they'll govern the department together on a nongender basis.

Valencia

Valencia is well-represented in this week's Southern Section top-10 rankings. The boys' volleyball team is No. 2 in Division, the baseball team is No. 3 in Division II and the softball team is No. 7 (two spots above rival Hart) in Division I.
