COLLEGES

The Master's College

The women's volleyball team, coming off a three-game sweep over Christian Heritage on Saturday, finish the regular season this week. The Lady Mustangs play Vanguard in Costa Mesa tonight at 7 and face visiting Biola at 7 p.m. Thursday at Bross Gym.

Against Christian Heritage, Lacey Geinger had 10 kills and 14 digs, Kat Kern had eight kills and nine digs and Erika Sansoni had nine kills and six digs.

HIGH SCHOOLS

Canyon

The girls' volleyball team travels to Almont League champion San Gabriel for the first round of the Southern Section Division I-A playoffs at 7 tonight. If Canyon wins, the Cowboys advance to play at third-seeded Marina at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Canyon is led by Jennifer Weinberger and Mari Ruddick.

Hart

The girls' volleyball team has sneaked into the Division I-A playoffs as a wild-card entry. The Indians open at Sunny Hills of Fullerton at 7 tonight. A victory means the Indians advance to play at No. 2 seeded Capistrano Valley at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Ashley Lawler and Emily Steckel are among Hart's top scorers.

Saugus

The girls' volleyball team plays host to Crescenta Valley of La Crescenta at 7 tonight in the first round of the Division I-A playoffs. If Saugus wins, the Centurions advance to play either at Bell Gardens or against California of Whittier at a site to be determined.

Julia Bradley and Lisa Sonnenblick are among Saugus's top players.

Valencia

The Foothill League-champion girls' volleyball team opens the Divison I-AA playoffs (the top division) against visiting Littlerock at 7 tonight. If Valencia wins, the Lady Vikings play Thursday either at Peninsula or against Leuzinger of Lawndale at a site to be determined.

Janelle Watterson, Carolyn Cornelius and Ashley Carter are among Valencia's top players. Carolyn Gorny is Littlerock's top player. Gorny's sister, Alison, is playing at Idaho State, and her brother, Chris, is playing at Brigham Young.
