COLLEGES

College of the Canyons College of the Canyons is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state. According to the National Junior College Research Association, College of the Canyons consistently ranks in the top 50 community colleges in the nation.  

The women's volleyball has won six in a row and is ranked No. 18 in California heading into Friday's 7 p.m. match at Bakersfield.

Sophomore Libero Libero can refer to:
  • Libero (soccer), a more versatile type of centre back in soccer
  • Libero (volleyball), a player specialized in defensive skills in volleyball
  • Mitsubishi Libero, the Japanese market name of the Mitsubishi Lancer wagon
 Grace Mejia-Wetzel (Valencia High) leads the Western States Conference in digs with 74. Freshman middle blocker Tiffany Swanson (Saugus) is sixth in the conference in kill percentage at .339. Sophomore Tara Coe (Hart) is third in the conference in service aces with nine.

The Master's College History
The Master's College was founded as Los Angeles Baptist Theological Seminary on May 25, 1927 to meet the need for a fundamental Baptist school on the West Coast.
 

The women's volleyball team has qualified for its first national tournament in the program's 29-year history. The Lady Mustangs will head to Marion, Ind., for the National Christian Athletic Associational National tournament beginning Oct. 31 against Union University of Tennessee The University of Tennessee (UT), sometimes called the University of Tennessee at Knoxville (UT Knoxville or UTK), is the flagship institution of the statewide land-grant University of Tennessee public university system in the American state of Tennessee. .

Meanwhile, senior Kathryn Kern Kern, river, 155 mi (249 km) long, rising in the S Sierra Nevada Mts., E Calif., and flowing south, then southwest to a reservoir in the extreme southern part of the San Joaquin valley. The river has Isabella Dam as its chief facility.  has been named both GSAC GSAC Golden State Athletic Conference

GSAC Greater San Antonio Chapter (of the National Contract Management Association) 
 player of the week and Region II player of the week after helping the Master's to three consecutive victories. She had 49 kills and a .500 hitting percentage in those three wins.

HIGH SCHOOLS

Canyon

The girls' volleyball team (8-1, 4-1), coming off Tuesday's five-set victory over defending Foothill League champion Hart (5-7, 1-3), are in a three-way tie for first place heading into today's 4:45 p.m. matchup at Hart.

Mari Ruddick had 20 kills against Saugus. Hart defeated Burroughs of Burbank on Tuesday.

Hart

The freshman football team (6-0, 1-0), which hasn't allowed more than 100 yards in a game the past two weeks, travels to Canyon (3-3, 0-1) at 4 p.m. today. Linebacker Patrick Sarkissian is the top hitter, and running back/defensive back Robbie Casselberry is a two-way standout. Hart defeated Burbank 7-0 last week, and Canyon lost to Valencia 14-6.

Saugus

The girls' golf team, led by Melanie De Leon, remained undefeated at 26-0 after Tuesday's Foothill League victory at Vista Valencia Golf Course. The Centurions will play Burbank at El Cariso at 2:45 p.m. today.

Valencia

Ashley Herrera continues to dominate for the girls' tennis team. The senior two-sport standout - she has committed to play softball softball, variant of baseball played with a larger ball on a smaller field.
