According to the National Junior College Research Association, College of the Canyons consistently ranks in the top 50 community colleges in the nation. For the first time this season, the men's basketball team plays before the women's team Friday at College of the Canyons in the first round of the Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region, playoffs. Saugus Kyla Sullivan, a senior pitcher for the softball team, has committed to a Western Michigan scholarship. Sullivan, a right-hander, was 12-4 last season. Valencia Former softball standout Tori Rocco, who holds the school record for career victories (49), will miss her entire freshman season at Arkansas Tech because of tendinitis in her shoulder. ``She would have been the No. 1 pitcher but I think she pushed a little too hard,'' said her mother, Gail.
