COLLEGES

College of the Canyons College of the Canyons is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state. According to the National Junior College Research Association, College of the Canyons consistently ranks in the top 50 community colleges in the nation.  

Five football players have signed letters of intent to play at four-year colleges next season. Running back J.J. Arrington is going to California, quarterback Kyle Bauer is going to Weber State, offensive lineman Chris Haynes is going to Montana State, defensive lineman Lex See yacc.

Bauer and Miller played together at Valencia High.

The Master's College History
The Master's College was founded as Los Angeles Baptist Theological Seminary on May 25, 1927 to meet the need for a fundamental Baptist school on the West Coast.
 

Caleb Adcock has been named the Golden State Athletic Conference's men's basketball player of the week. The 6-foot-7 freshman forward from Georgia averaged 21 points, five rebounds, two blocks and one steal in two victories for The Master's. He was 15 of 25 (60 percent) from the field and 12 of 17 (70.6 percent) from the line.

In a victory over Hope International, Adcock scored 23 points and grabbed seven rebounds while shooting 11 for 15 from the field. In a victory against Christian Heritage Christian Heritage can refer to:

Canyon

Senior boys' basketball guard Steve Farmer is recovering from a an ankle injury but should be full strength for the final two games of the regular season, at Burbank on Tuesday and against visiting Valencia on Thursday.

Hart

Girls' volleyball standout Julie Hauserman plans to continue her career at Cal State Northridge next season. She signed a letter of intent Wednesday, as did football players Chris Piligian (Fresno State), Will Simons (Princeton) and Cody Kase (New Mexico New Mexico, state in the SW United States. At its northwestern corner are the so-called Four Corners, where Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah meet at right angles; New Mexico is also bordered by Oklahoma (NE), Texas (E, S), and Mexico (S). ).

Saugus

A large crowd is expected for Thursday's season-finale girls' basketball game against first-place Hart, which beat Saugus (then ranked No. 1 by the Daily News) by 21 points Jan. 24.

Assuming Saugus has just one Foothill League loss entering the game - the Centurions played Canyon late Friday and will play Burroughs of Burbank on Tuesday - a Saugus victory over Hart will give Saugus a co-championship.

Valencia

The baseball team's annual fund-raising Bowl-A-Thon event is scheduled for 9 a.m. Sunday at Valencia Lanes on Lyons Boulevard in Santa Clarita.
