Antelope Valley College Antelope Valley College is a comprehensive community college located in Lancaster, California, USA. It is operated by the Antelope Valley Community College District, with a primary service area of 1,945 square miles covering portions of Los Angeles and Kern counties.  

After a standout two-year stint with the football team, James Laurence is weighing his options at where he'll be playing next season as a junior.

The Antelopes are making a habit of claiming Golden League football MVP (Multimedia Video Processor) A high-speed DSP chip from Texas Instruments, introduced in 1994. Officially introduced as the TMS320C80, it combines RISC technology with the functionality of four DSPs on one chip.  honors. Quarterback Johnny Walker was named league MVP for the second year in a row, marking the third consecutive season an Antelope Valley player has earned the honor. Antelopes quarterback Demetre Booker was the 2000 MVP. Antelope Valley has six representatives on the first team. Offensive lineman Josh King, tight end Danny Leist, fullback Sean Wallace, linebacker Marcos Huerta, defensive lineman Frank Morin and Kreig Peters were honored for their part in helping Antelope Valley to a share of its third consecutive league title.

Highland

The wrestling team took first place in the Littlerock tournament this weekend. Littlerock had been ranked No. 1 in Southern Section Division VI.

Ryan D'Errico, John Ikahihifo, Dan Luna and David Sigal lead the team into a home meet today against Ventura and this weekend at the Quartz Hill Classic.

The wrestling team finishes nonleague competition with two meets this week, including today's three-way dual meet with Desert and Granite Hills at 5:30 p.m. Lancaster begins Golden League competition Jan. 8 at Quartz Hill.

``He comes home for Christmas and practices with the team,'' Littlerock coach Eric Stanford said of the elder Griffin. ``He's still friends with a lot of guys on the team. It's just been a wonderful thing.'' Stanford said he hoped to honor Griffin at a game this season. Littlerock (4-3) was set to host Rosamond on Tuesday.

Former baseball standout Chris Testa was selected by the Dodgers in Monday's minor-league portion of the Rule-5 draft. Testa, a left-handed hitting outfielder, had been in the Colorado Rockies' organization. He batted .253 with 56 RBI RBI

Senior Kristen Voyson of the girls' volleyball team made first team All- Southern Section Division I. The Long Beach State-bound middle blocker was the only member of the Golden League to earn All-Southern Section honors.
