COLLEGES

Antelope Valley College Antelope Valley College is a comprehensive community college located in Lancaster, California, USA. It is operated by the Antelope Valley Community College District, with a primary service area of 1,945 square miles covering portions of Los Angeles and Kern counties.

The football team continues its spring workouts with plenty of freshmen and a decent class of returning sophomores, all of which has coach Brent Carder optimistic entering his 33rd season with the program.

``This time last year, we had a high percentage of returners. And considering the vast majority of the kids are new to each other, we feel good about this year's group,'' Carder said. ``We have a handful of experienced sophomores, so there's no reason for us to be anything other than optimistic at this point.''

Wide receiver James Laurence, offensive lineman Eric Bonney and running back Teddy Monroe are among the returning starters.
