Saugus

As the Centurions played in the first round of the Southern Section Division II boys' volleyball playoffs Friday, they couldn't help but see who they were scheduled to play next if they were to win. Second-seeded Loyola of Los Angeles, which had a bye in the first round, awaits the winner. Loyola knocked Saugus out of the playoffs in the first round last season after the Centurions won a wild-card game.

``I thought the seedings were a little unfair for us having finished second in league,'' Saugus coach Matt Gillis said. ``I don't think we got the seeding we deserved.''

Valencia (24-3-2, 9-1), which won its second Foothill title in a row, defeated the Cowboys 2-1.
