COLLEGES

College of the Canyons College of the Canyons is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state. According to the National Junior College Research Association, College of the Canyons consistently ranks in the top 50 community colleges in the nation.  

Freshman pitcher Richie Martin of the Cougars baseball team remains sidelined with a sore elbow.

``We'd like to have him, but we don't want to rush him,'' COC See chip on chip.  coach Chris Cota said.

Martin is 2-3 with a 5.28 ERA but had emerged as one of the most effective pitchers during COC's turnaround during conference. In conference, Martin is 2-0 with a 1.40 ERA.

The Master's College History
The Master's College was founded as Los Angeles Baptist Theological Seminary on May 25, 1927 to meet the need for a fundamental Baptist school on the West Coast.

Canyon

Canyon graduate and 5-foot-9 sophomore Marisa Behring is part of Cal State Northridge's inaugural women's water polo water polo, swimming game encompassing features of soccer, football, basketball, and hockey. The object of the game is to maneuver, by head, feet, or hand, a leather-covered ball 27 to 28 in.  team. The Matadors have struggled recently, going 1-3 in the Long Beach State tournament. Northridge, however, managed its lone tournament win on the final day with an 8-6 victory over UC Santa Cruz on Sunday. The Matadors faced UC Irvine on Thursday.

Junior softball player Gloria Slakoff says her favorite dessert is Gold Medal ribbon with lots of sprinkles and whipped cream. Teammate Erika Owen prefers chocolate soy milk, and Meaghan Flaherty likes pazookie.

Saugus

After starting the season 8-1, the Centurions baseball team is 12-6 and has dropped three of its past four. And now the tough stretch begins, as Saugus plays the other top teams in the Foothill League over the next week, beginning today at Valencia. Next week, Saugus plays Canyon and Hart, which outscored the Centurions 35-6 in back-to-back games earlier in the season.

Valencia

Pam Milner led the Vikings girls' swim team with two individual victories in Wednesday's meet against Canyon, which Valencia won 108-62. Milner won the 50 freestyle in 26.67 seconds. She won the 100 breaststroke in 1:16.35.

The Vikings improved to 3-1 in Foothill League competition.

Valencia's boys' team also won, edging Canyon 88-82.
