The JV baseball team, which went undefeated last season with one tie, opened its season Friday with a 5-5 tie against Moorpark. The game was called after six innings because of darkness.

Kyle Boggio and Todd Wilson each had two hits for the Indians, who scored three runs in the firth inning but had to hold on for the tie.

Boggio struck out seven in three innings, but Moorpark put runners on second and third with two outs in the sixth with a great chance to win the game. But Ryan Ozella came out of the bullpen and induced a fly-ball out on his first pitch to end the threat. Moorpark also left the bases loaded in the fifth inning.
