Antelope Valley College Antelope Valley College is a comprehensive community college located in Lancaster, California, USA. It is operated by the Antelope Valley Community College District, with a primary service area of 1,945 square miles covering portions of Los Angeles and Kern counties.  

The women's soccer team, coming off a 2-2 tie at Rio Hondo Rio Hondo may refer to:

The girls' volleyball team begins the second half of Golden League play today with control of its own destiny in the defense of its league title.

Lancaster

Senior Kierah Figueroa improved to 15-0 in league play by sweeping her No. 1-singles sets, but the Eagles lost their first match in the Golden League. Lancaster and defending-champion Quartz Hill played to a 9-9 tie Tuesday, but the Rebels won 82-72 on games.

Littlerock

Girls' volleyball standout Alison Gorny, whose brother Chris plays volleyball for Brigham Young University Brigham Young University, at Provo, Utah; Latter-Day Saints; coeducational; opened as an academy in 1875 and became a university in 1903. It is noted for its law and business schools. , has committed to Idaho State. Gorny, averaging 27 kills per game, also considered UC Irvine, Boise State and Utah State.

``I like Idaho State because I like the town and it's a pretty good school,'' Gorny said. ``There's not one thing bad about it. Once I got there and checked it out, I loved it.''

Palmdale

The girls' volleyball team hopes to pull the upset of the year when it plays host to Golden League rival Highland.

Despite strong individual performances from setter Eidelyn Buena and outside hitter Kim Miller, both seniors, and junior middle blocker Dallas Williams, Palmdale lost its most recent match to Littlerock 15-6, 15-9, 15-11 on Tuesday.

The Falcons enter today's match against Highland 1-8 overall and 1-4 in league play. First-place Highland is 7-0, 5-0.

Paraclete

The Spirits, off to a 2-0 Alpha League start, will have their biggest test of the girls' volleyball season when they host Village Christian at 5 p.m. tonight.

The Crusaders (15-1) are the two-time defending Alpha League champions and are ranked sixth in the latest Daily News poll. Paraclete is 8-2 overall.

The Spirits, who swept Marshall Fundamental on Tuesday, have received fine defensive play from Jackie Kolesar and Tiffany Tiffany, Tiffanie (UK)

Quartz Hill

Quartz Hill beat visiting Lancaster on Tuesday to keep intact a Golden League unbeaten streak that has lasted for 11 years.

The teams split 18 sets, but Quartz Hill won on games 82-72. The Rebels are 5-0 in the Golden League entering today's match against Littlerock.

Against Lancaster, Quartz Hill was led by top singles players Carlota Miso and Jillian Jones, who each lost just seven games combined in their two sets.
