The former Alemany High of Mission Hills standout hit his fifth homer - in his last seven games - in a 5-0 victory over Citrus on Monday. The Master's College Because of rain delays and a three-game losing streak, the baseball team (7-4, 3-3) hasn't won since Feb. 12. The Mustangs hope to end their streak against visiting Vanguard University of Costa Mesa at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Reese Field. HIGH SCHOOLS Canyon Girls' basketball standout Nicole Leon, a 5-foot-9 sophomore who was the Foothill League's second-leading scorer this past season, has joined the track team. Leon is scheduled to compete alongside Chelsea Rhodes, Kellie Parkinson, Beth Hermanson, Dominique Washington and soccer standout Shannon Omahen. Hart The baseball team seems to be picking up where it left off last spring, when they reached the Southern Section Div. II semifinals. The Indians won two scrimmages on Saturday, defeating Thousand Oaks 9-5 and Camarillo 9-3. The team didn't commit an error over 14 innings. Touted left-hander Tyler Fick was the winning pitcher in the first game, allowing one hit and one earned run in four innings. Right-hander Tyler Lyon pitched four strong innings to win the second game. Saugus Top baseball prospect Travis Babin, one of the Foothill League's top returning pitchers and hitters, probably won't be ready to play for at least a month because he's recovering from knee surgery. Babin injured his knee playing football early in the season but waited three months until after the season to have surgery. Another top baseball player, right-handed pitcher Kody Kurowski, also isn't available after breaking his leg during football season. Valencia All football alumni are invited to attend a retirement dinner party for former coach Brian Stiman at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Wood Ranch Restaurant in Stevenson Ranch.
