Crenshaw, a junior guard who averaged 9.4 points and 1.5 assists per game, was a first-team selection. Oliver, a junior forward who averaged 6.4 points and 4.4 rebounds, earned honorable mention.

``Crenshaw was our leader and David's game grew a lot since the beginning of the season,'' Antelope Valley coach Ed Campbell said. ``I think the other coaches in the league recognized that and that's why they voted for them.''

Seven girls' soccer players were given all-Golden League honors: Jennifer Lamoure, Diana Mendez, Salma Perez and Sahar Haghdan were first team. Janet Mendez and Kellie Drenner were second team and Annika Perkins was an honorable mention selection.

Goalie Scott Carlston was Lancaster's lone representative on the boys' soccer first-team all-Golden League list. Josh Abad and Hector Macias were second team and Josh Wolf was an honorable mention selection.

The boys' volleyball team opens its season at 6 tonight when it plays host to Hart of Newhall.

Junior setter/outside hitter Ryan Duncan and sophomore setter/outside hitter Jackson Meticcechia are among the team's top players.

Fay is a solid hitter who plays both corner infield and outfield positions and has college potential, Neill said.

Although not thought to be career-threatening, the injury is untimely for a team that was hit hard by graduation.

``It's a tough break for her, and it's a tough break for our team,'' Neill said.

Quartz Hill

Boys' basketball standout Nate Forte was named the Golden League's MVP (Multimedia Video Processor) A high-speed DSP chip from Texas Instruments, introduced in 1994. Officially introduced as the TMS320C80, it combines RISC technology with the functionality of four DSPs on one chip. .

Forte, a senior guard, averaged 17.1 points and 5.9 assists per game to lead Quartz Hill to a Golden League title.

Senior guard Lawrence Tyson (24.7 points per game) and sophomore wing Alexander Dantzler (17.1 points per game) were first-team all-league selections.
