Former girls' basketball standout Shaquina Mosley is excelling as a sophomore at perennial community college power Central Arizona (Coolidge, Ariz.).

A Junior College All-American as a freshman, Mosley is the state's leader in field goal percentage (60.1) and in steals (102). She's second in the state with 211 assists.

Among her current teammates at Central Arizona (26-1, 18-0 in Arizona Community College Athletic Association play) is former Highland standout Lindsey Blunt.

Huff became the Marauder's top scorer after Wendell White Wendell White (born 23 November 1964 in Barbados) is a Bermudian cricketer. He is a left-handed batsman and a left-arm medium-fast bowler. He has played one first-class match against the USA and five List A matches for Bermuda, including the 2005 ICC Trophy.  broke his foot midway through the season. He averaged 17 points a game in conference, including a 41 point effort against Chaffey. He averaged 14.2 points a game during the season.

Lancaster

Former boys' basketball standout, Deonte Huff, was named first-team All Foothill Conference for Antelope Valley College. Huff filled in as the Marauder's top scorer after Wendell White broke his foot midway through the season. He averaged 17 points a game in conference, including a 41 point effort against Chaffey. He averaged 14.2 points a game during the season.

Littlerock

Johnny Garso will look to become the school's first state championship meet wrestling qualifier in more than 10 years at the two-day Master's meet at Fountain Valley Fountain Valley, city (1990 pop. 53,691), Orange co., S Calif.; inc. 1957. Chiefly residential, Fountain Valley also has diverse manufactures, including apparel, computer equipment, semiconductors, and medical equipment. A U.S. navy helicopter facility is there. , which begins Friday.

Garso, who competes in the 160-pound division, opens Master's against Mark Savalle (Dana Hills).

The last Littlerock wrestler to reach the state meet was Devin Benjamin (1994).

Palmdale

Sam Cooksey will compete at Master's in the 135-pound division against Southern Section Coastal Division champion Suong Cun (Arroyo of San Lorenzo San Lorenzo, town, S Honduras, on the Gulf of Fonseca. Its satellite, Henecán is the chief Pacific port of Honduras. Henecán's modern port facilities and deepwater harbor and channel approach were constructed in the late 1970s after the old port at ).

Cooksey placed fifth in the Central Division meet at Brea Olinda High over the weekend to become one of just four Golden League wrestlers who qualified.

Paraclete

The recent series of winter storms has limited the softball softball, variant of baseball played with a larger ball on a smaller field. Invented (1888) in Chicago as an indoor game, it was at various times called indoor baseball, mush ball, playground ball, kitten ball, and, because it was also played by women, ladies'  team's preseason practices.

Paraclete had a few indoor practices, but their time in the gym has been limited with the girl's basketball team still in the playoffs and the boys' volleyball team starting up. The boys' soccer team has also been practicing indoors.

Paraclete's first scheduled game is a scrimmage against Quartz Hill at 3:15 p.m. March 2 at Quartz Hill.

Quartz Hill

The boys' basketball team's most successful season in years ended Tuesday with a 92-74 Southern Section Div. I-AA second-round loss to Jordan of Long Beach.

Quartz Hill (19-7) allowed a season high in points in just its second loss in 15 games.
