I-AA playoff opener Saturday at 7:30. Rancho Verde senior post players Amber Cox and Tainoisouiti Lott both are 6-foot-2 and have combined for 554 points, 283 rebounds and 50 blocks. Sophomore Charity Smith (6-0) and senior Brittany Vincent (5-11) are Palmdale's tallest players. - Gideon Rubin Paraclete The Alpha League runner-up girls' basketball team has a first-round bye in the Southern Section Div. IV-AA playoffs.
