COLLEGES

College of the Canyons College of the Canyons is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state. According to the National Junior College Research Association, College of the Canyons consistently ranks in the top 50 community colleges in the nation.  

Many events this week have schedule adjustments. The softball team's game against Cuesta cuesta (kwĕs`tə), asymmetric ridge characterized by a short, steep escarpment on one side, and a long, gentle slope on the other. The steep side exposes the edge of erosion-resistant rock layers that form the cuestas. , originally scheduled for Tuesday, was postponed to Monday because of field conditions. Also, Friday's track and field meet has been moved from Canyons to Santa Barbara Santa Barbara (săn'tə bär`brə, –bərə), city (1990 pop. 85,571), seat of Santa Barbara co., S Calif., on the Pacific Ocean; inc. 1850.  because of the installation of new turf at Canyons' stadium.

The Master's College History
The Master's College was founded as Los Angeles Baptist Theological Seminary on May 25, 1927 to meet the need for a fundamental Baptist school on the West Coast.

 Player of the Week for a solid offensive showing as the baseball team went 2-2 last week. He had three hits, including his first home run of the season, in a victory over Westmont. Wagner added three more hits and an RBI RBI

HIGH SCHOOLS

Canyon

The boys' volleyball team will prepare for its season with a doubleheader scrimmage Saturday against two of the Marmonte League's top teams. The Cowboys face Westlake and Royal of Simi Valley Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969. , with play beginning at 10 a.m.

Hart

Although the baseball team has some big holes to fill from last year, the Indians have enough talent to earn a No. 8 ranking in the Southern Section Division II preseason poll. Hart gets its first indication of just how competitive it should be when the Indians play in a three-team scrimmage Saturday, starting with a 9:30 a.m. game against defending Division I champion Camarillo.

Saugus

The baseball team tunes up for its first official game of the season with a doubleheader scrimmage Saturday at Highland of Palmdale. The Centurions open their season March 7 at Mary Star.

Valencia

Boys' basketball players Scott Domingo and Alan Husted were named the school's athletes of the week for their roles in the Vikings' 68-62 first-round playoff victory Friday over Peninsula of Palos Verdes. Domingo scored a game-high 21 points, and Husted added 12 points.
