COLLEGES

College of the Canyons College of the Canyons is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state. According to the National Junior College Research Association, College of the Canyons consistently ranks in the top 50 community colleges in the nation.  

Standout tight end Jason Lance is among the few sophomore football starters who hasn't committed to a four-year college. However, offensive coordinator An offensive coordinator typically refers to the coach on a football team in the National Football League or College football who is in charge of the offense. This position aids the head coach by designing and scripting plays, delegating work to offensive position coaches during  Dean Herrington believes Lance eventually will receive a late offer.

``Now that spring practice has started, there's always a few injuries, and a lot of colleges then look at the JCs,'' Herrington said.

The Master's College History
The Master's College was founded as Los Angeles Baptist Theological Seminary on May 25, 1927 to meet the need for a fundamental Baptist school on the West Coast.
 

Senior Tiffany Webb and junior Grace Tappe have been named to the National Christian College Athletic Association The National Christian College Athletic Association ( NCCAA ) is an association of approximately 100 Christian universities, colleges, and Bible colleges in the United States which see collegiate sports primarily as an opportunity for Christian fellowship and ministry rather  All-American first team in basketball.

Webb, coming off a serious knee injury during her junior season, also was named NCCAA NCCAA National Christian College Athletic Association

NCCAA National Carpet Cleaners Association of America
 Far West Region Player of the Year.

Senior Amy Van Doesburg and sophomore Kinsley Mittel received honorable mention selections.

HIGH SCHOOLS

Canyon

The softball team is 6-6 after a 1-0 victory over Highland of Palmdale on Tuesday, which means first-year coach Bob Foster already has equaled the victory total of last year's team (6-15).

Canyon has a week off during spring break before resuming at Oaks Christian of Westlake Village at 3:30 p.m. April 7.

Saugus

Softball standout Tiffany Huff, a junior catcher, is making a strong bid for all-state recognition. She is batting .622 with four home runs, 14 RBI RBI

Valencia

Athletic director Enrique Lopez said there is a snag in the construction plans for a press box at the new football stadium, and the odds probably are about 50-50 that the project will be completed by the beginning of football season.
