Former girls' basketball standout Crystal McCutcheon is having a breakthrough junior year at Long Beach State, averaging 14 points per game and shooting better than 49 percent (38 for 77) from beyond the 3-point line.

Highland

Carson Alvey and Tomoreo Allen were named first-team All-Golden League in boys' basketball. Arland Kelly received honorable mention.

Nikole Moffet was an honorable mention in girls' basketball.

- Ramona Shelburne Ramona Shelburne is an American sports journalist currently writing for the Los Angeles Daily News.

Shelburne was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She attended El Camino Real High School in Woodland Hills, California where she was a class valedictorian.
 

Lancaster

Andrea Bobic and Kimberly Brandon was named first-team All-Golden League in girls' basketball. Martesha Deason receivedhonorable mention.

Chad McDaniel and Andre Snider were named first-team All-Golden League in boys' basketball. Jamal Sloan earned honorable mention.

Littlerock

Senior defender Francisco Medrano was named Golden League MVP (Multimedia Video Processor) A high-speed DSP chip from Texas Instruments, introduced in 1994. Officially introduced as the TMS320C80, it combines RISC technology with the functionality of four DSPs on one chip.  for the league-champion boys' soccer team.

Littlerock was represented by seven players on the all-league team including first-team selections Francisco Medrano, a senior forward, junior goalie Emilio Miranda and junior midfielder Wilson Mancia.

Palmdale

Former girls' softball softball, variant of baseball played with a larger ball on a smaller field. Invented (1888) in Chicago as an indoor game, it was at various times called indoor baseball, mush ball, playground ball, kitten ball, and, because it was also played by women, ladies'  standout Monique Saldana (1999) returned to the program as an assistant coach.

Saldana played third base for most of her career at Palmdale and was a member of the Falcons' last Golden League championship team in 1997. She also had a successful two-year career at Antelope Valley College Antelope Valley College is a comprehensive community college located in Lancaster, California, USA. It is operated by the Antelope Valley Community College District, with a primary service area of 1,945 square miles covering portions of Los Angeles and Kern counties. .
