Although the results might indicate otherwise, the boys' basketball team's play in Monday's 71-52 victory over Canyon of Canyon Country left room for improvement, coach Ed Campbell said.

The girls' soccer team has a tough road ahead this week, starting with a 3:15 p.m. nonleague game today at Valencia and continuing with the South Torrance tournament on Saturday.

``Valencia is a really good team. I refereed their semifinal game last season,'' Highland coach Juan Paolo said. ``Saturday will be tough because three of our starters will be gone on a senior trip.''

The wrestling team opens Golden League play tonight againstfirst-year varsity program Pete Knight.

The Falcons are at home and the match begins at 7.

Palmdale will also participate in the Lancaster Tournament at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lancaster High.

The boys' soccer team continues its run of playing Foothill League teams, when it goes on the road to face Saugus at 3:15 p.m. today.

The Rebels, winners at the Lancaster Tournament last weekend, played Foothill League champion Hart of Newhall on Tuesday; today it's the Centurions, the league's third-place team.
