According to the National Junior College Research Association, College of the Canyons consistently ranks in the top 50 community colleges in the nation. Hart The baseball team's 2-1 victory in 10 innings against visiting Palmdale in the wild-card round of the Southern Section Div. II playoffs Tuesday was scoreless through nine innings. But the contest wasn't the longest scoreless game in Hart history. In the 1994 section quarterfinals, Hart and Rio Mesa of Oxnard were scoreless for 9 1/2 innings before Rio Mesa won 1-0 on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 10th. Saugus The softball team plans to play its home playoff games at nearby Central Park in Saugus beginning 3:15 p.m. Friday against visiting Hueneme of Oxnard. Valencia After breezing past visiting Crescenta Valley of La Crescenta in the second round of the Div. II volleyball playoffs Tuesday, top-seeded and defending section champion Valencia (14-1) faces Dos Pueblos of Goleta in the quarterfinals Friday at a site to be determined. |
