DAILY POST: Meanwhile... YOUR VOICE IN WALES.THE warring factions on Anglesey County Council continue to demonstrate how not to behave in public life - and see the reputation of their council suffer accordingly. Yesterday we saw the unedifying Adj. 1. unedifying - not edifying unenlightening edifying, enlightening - enlightening or uplifting so as to encourage intellectual or moral improvement; "the paintings in the church served an edifying purpose even for those who could not read" spectacle of councillors on the audit committee, who are members of the ruling coalition, refusing to attend a meeting to discuss a letter from external auditors addressing the breakdown between the council's executive and senior officers. Exactly how do these people expect to resolve their differences if they boycott boycott, concerted economic or social ostracism of an individual, group, or nation to express disapproval or coerce change. The practice was named (1880) after Capt. meetings set up to tackle them? |
