Once they're collected, we turn them over to the L.A. County Children and Family Services. I'm continuously contacting firms, businesses and supermarkets asking for their assistance in helping us collect the stuffed animals. We also provide therapeutic aides (who help the) children in time of crisis, when, for the children's safety, they must be taken from their homes.''

HOW DID YOU GET INVOLVED?: ``I came to this country in my 20s; I wanted to make friends and keep ties with my people in Israel. Forming a part of this organization gives me that opportunity since both NA'AMAT Israel and NA'AMAT USA are one organization working together with the same objective.''

WHY DO YOU VOLUNTEER?: ``Busy is the key word. I like being busy. I needed to do something else other than `just working.' ''

BIGGEST DILEMMA: ``Not enough time to do all the things that I'd like to do.''

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: ``It's a little disappointing not to hold a Ph.D. Family always came - and still comes - first.''

GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT: ``In 1996, I had the honor of being named Employee of the Month for the whole L.A. County.''

GOALS FOR THE FUTURE: ``To live every day to its fullest, and to accomplish what I set out to do. You see, four years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer; that gives one a different perspective of life. Fortunately it was detected at a very early stage.''

WHO RELIES ON YOU THE MOST AND WHO YOU RELY ON: ``My husband and I have been married for 31 years; we rely on each other.''

ROLE MODELS:``I admire strong women who have accomplished something and have left a trail for the rest of us (abuse) for The Rest Of Us - (From the Macintosh slogan "The computer for the rest of us") 1. Used to describe a spiffy product whose affordability shames other comparable products, or (more often) used sarcastically to describe spiffy but very overpriced products.

HOW DO YOU DEFINE SUCCESS?: ``Success is a life not wasted. Time is precious and should be spent doing something productive. Being appreciated by family and friends makes one feel fulfilled. To me that's success!''

FAVORITE ACTIVITIES: ``I love doing crossword puzzles crossword puzzle, word game in which words corresponding to numbered clues are put into a grid of horizontal and vertical squares to form intersecting words. The puzzle is solved when a player supplies all of the words correctly.  for two reasons: Looking up words helped me learn English - it increased my vocabulary. Secondly, in my line of work I have to put a lot of clues together, so it's sort of how I mostly perceive things, like a big crossword puzzle.''

HOBBIES: ``At some point I'd like to continue my stamp collection that I started some time ago. I'd also like to trace my family genealogy genealogy (jē'nēŏl`əjē, –ăl`–, jĕ–), the study of family lineage. Genealogies have existed since ancient times. .''

WHAT WOULD BE A PERFECT DAY FOR YOU?: ``A busy day; I like to be constantly doing something. And how soothing sooth·ing
