DAILY NEWS PEOPLE : ROSE HORKIN.Horkin retired from teaching 20 years ago, but she volunteers so much it's like a full-time job. She works with the Valley University Women organization, sorting through college scholarship applications to find 12 to 14 students deserving of $1,500 scholarships. Horkin also donates $1,500 of her own to another scholarship fund named after her grandson, the Devon DuVal Memorial Auxiliary Chapter of the National Asthma Center. As a member of the California Retired Teachers Association, Horkin helps raise money for students who want to go to California State University, Northridge CSUN offers a variety of programs leading to bachelor's degrees in 61 fields and master's degrees in 42 fields. The university has over 150,000 alumni. It's also home to a summer musical theater/theater program known as TADW (TeenAge Drama Workshop) that leads teenagers through an , and become teachers. My favorites are the Music Center, the Mark Taper Forum The Mark Taper Forum is a small thrust stage with 745 seats at the Los Angeles Music Center built by Welton Beckett and Associates.
