It may execute other programs or generate a list for human operators to follow. See scheduler.  who directs us on what we would do that day. There's a variety of things to do, like taking patients and specimens to the lab, directing visitors, running errands, etc. But the one I enjoy the most is my day at the nursery, changing the babies' diapers, bathing them and holding them for a while - they're so sweet and tender! I also get to take their pictures. It is so much fun!''

HOW DID YOU GET INVOLVED?: ``I became interested when a neighbor and I were talking about how rewarding volunteer work can be. Pretty soon, I found myself volunteering at Northridge Hospital's gift shop and later on came over to Columbia West Hills Medical Center.''

WHY DO YOU VOLUNTEER?: ``I have the interest, and the time to do it - there are so many people who need someone at their side in life's happiest and toughest moments. It really doesn't take that much to make someone's day a bit brighter. I feel it's a privilege to do so.''

GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT: ``This year I had the honor of being named Volunteer of the Year out of 250 volunteers at the hospital. Such an honor led me to represent the hospital at the Canoga Park Memorial Day Parade - I rode in a red '69 Cadillac convertible. That was such a thrilling thrill

GOALS FOR THE FUTURE: ``I would like to travel as much as possible. As a matter of fact, my husband and I just got back from a trip to Dublin, where we had a wonderful time. Tracing my family roots was partly the reason for going there.''

WHAT WOULD BE A PERFECT DAY FOR YOU?: ``I count my blessings every day - every day is perfect since I stopped smoking - I feel so good about it!''
