Joseph also is on the board of directors for the California Displaced Homemakers Network, an organization that gives support and information to recently divorced homemakers and provides services to get them back on their feet. The organization also provides information pamphlets for legislation, ``to make sure California affords opportunities to the population of displaced homemakers,'' Joseph said. With the LADIES (Life After Divorce Is Eventually Sane), Joseph created, in 1982, a group for women formerly married to celebrities. WHY DO YOU VOLUNTEER: ``If you know that you have the capacity to effect change, you just report to duty. It is not so much a chore but a privilege to know that you've made a difference.
