COACH OF THE YEAR

OLIVER GERMOND, Hart

Germond led the unseeded Indians to their first Southern Section title when Hart (21-5-4, 7-2-1) tied Woodbridge 1-1 in the Division II final. The Indians made their first semifinal appearance in 1997 and have returned each year since.

A 1991 Hart grad, Germond has guided the Indians to Foothill League titles in each of his six years as coach. This season's championship was the toughest. Although Germond believed this year's team was the most talented all-around, wins didn't always come easily. Hart entered the final week of league in fourth place but claimed the title on the last day of the season.

This season also marked the first time the Indians won the Hart tournament as they beat City power Chatsworth for the championship.
