required addressing VMS Year 2000 issues with precision in a timely manner."

Lehrer added, "I am proud to say that our Year 2000 team completed the VMS conversion on schedule...and with 4000 programs and 4 million lines of code The statements and instructions that a programmer writes when creating a program. One line of this "source code" may generate one machine instruction or several depending on the programming language. A line of code in assembly language is typically turned into one machine instruction.  this was no small feat. The team's success can be attributed to a range of factors, including the use of the D2K/Plus (TM) toolkit."

Datalex Vice President of Sales, Ron Pimblett noted that: "D2K/Plus (TM) is an outstanding product to help with the US Health Industry Year 2000 remediation. We expect other US health care providers will consider it very seriously to resolve their problems."

VMS is used by 10 health insurance companies that contract with HCFA to process approximately a third of the Medicare Part B and 75 percent of Durable Medical Equipment Durable medical equipment is a term of art used to describe certain Medicare benefits, that is, whether Medicare may pay for the item. Datalex is an independent provider of software tools targeting primarily Year 2000 conversions of mainframe computer applications running under various versions of the Multiple Virtual Storage (operating system) Multiple Virtual Storage - (MVS) Release 2 of OS/VS2, called MVS because it had multiple 16 MB virtual address spaces, in contrast to SVS. MVS ran on the IBM 390 series mainframes. It became MVS/SP, then MVS/XA (with 31-bit addressing) and then MVS/ESA.  ("MVS (Multiple Virtual Storage) Introduced in 1974, the primary operating system used with IBM mainframes (the others are VM and DOS/VSE). MVS is a batch processing-oriented operating system that manages large amounts of memory and disk space. ") operating system. The Company's tool set, D2K/Plus (TM), facilitates the conversions required for Year 2000 compliance by reducing the manual input otherwise required to undertake the assessment, conversion and testing of non-compliant data and source code. The Company believes that, relative to traditional conversion methods, the use of a tool set such as D2K/Plus (TM) provides time and labour efficiencies that may become increasingly valuable as programming resources become scarce with the approach of the Year 2000.
