D2Audio Announces the First Intelligent Amplifiers for Subwoofers, the WXS Series.

AUSTIN, Texas -- D2Audio, the world's only manufacturer of intelligent digital amplifiers, today announced it's first amplifiers specifically designed for subwoofers, the WXS series. The WXS600 and WXS300 amplifiers are true powerhouses, optimized for high continuous power output levels (600W RMS and 300W RMS respectively) as well as offering peak power of over 1,000W (for the WXS600). Measuring only 3.5 x 5 x 2 inches and weighing under 6 ounces, the WXS series of amplifier modules are perfectly designed to dramatically reduce the size & weight of subwoofer.

The WXS' all digital audio processing enabling subwoofer manufacturers to quickly activate and optimize their speaker cabinet designs without the need and expense of developing complex passive crossovers. The amplifiers output connects directly to the driver itself and easily attaches to their backplate and/or heatsink. All WXS amplifiers come with Audio Canvas, a powerful development tool that lets speaker designers graphically control the internal DSP to customize signal processing and save the optimized configuration as the amplifier's default.

D2Audio's own PWM-controller IC technology with embedded DSP core allow OEM's to easily tailor and differentiate their system's sound and features. As an example: D2's technology optionally enables "Automatic Room Mode Correction" (ARMC) right from the amplifier itself as well as complete digital control from a remote control or the receiver. The WXS also includes sophisticated signal processing featuring fully customizable parametric EQ's, crossovers, continuous phase control/adjustment, compressor/limiters, and more. As a complete D2Audio sub-assembly, the WXS accelerates subwoofer design time to market for speaker manufacturers. It offers a pure digital signal path while operating at 93% efficiency, reducing heat and system size. D2Audio's patented amplifier controls allows for sophisticated protection, fault recovery and actual "cycle by cycle" management of dynamic amp currents to enable a stable and robust amplifier solution into demanding speaker loads, even under the toughest home-theater or music conditions.

The WXS series is optimized for performance with both linear power supplies and switch mode power supplies allowing for maximum performance and minimum cost. It offers flexible product optimizing features like three independent channels of audio processing for full control over both the subwoofer outputs as well as the digital signal outputs which can enable line level, line-level, post processed output.
