D2 Technologies Opens Taiwan VoIP Design Center; Michael Deng to Head R&D Effort.


SANTA BARBARA Santa Barbara (săn'tə bär`brə, –bərə), city (1990 pop. 85,571), seat of Santa Barbara co., S Calif., on the Pacific Ocean; inc. 1850. , Calif. -- D2 Technologies announces today that it has opened a design center in Hsinchu City, Taiwan. The center will be responsible for a variety of R&D projects aimed at advancing the state of the art of VoIP technology. The design center will be headed by Michael Deng, who reports to Matt Randmaa, vice president of engineering. D2 is best known for its vPort software, which is deployed in residential products, and is designed for CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) Communications equipment that resides on the customer's premises.
