SUTHERLAND US hip hop act D12 have revealed how their buddy Eminem helped them get back in the studio for the first time since one of their members was shot. The rap collective, who spawned Eminem, dominated the charts in 2001 and 2004 with albums Devil's Night and D12 World. But the group have been lying low since member Proof was shot and killed outside a Detroit nightclub in 2006. Now D12 star Swift has revealed the band are working on a third album produced by Eminem, who had a worldwide hit with album Slim Sady. He said: "The death of Proof slowed everyone down and we had to recuperate re·cu·per·ate v. To return to health or strength; recover. from that. "We've been in the studio for months just building songs, but I guess what happened was that the label wanted us to mentally get back in touch with things. "Writing songs and being in the studio has been like our therapy. We did a mix CD last year called Return Of The Desert Of The Dozen just to let everyone know we were still at full effect, and there's another coming out soon. "Our material should be out early next year or even at the end of this year." Eminem (Marshall Mathers) will release his new record, Relapse, on May 19, with Relapse 2 following later.
