D.C. to drop recycling vendor.


The city of Washington, D.C., plans on running its own household recycling recycling, the process of recovering and reusing waste products—from household use, manufacturing, agriculture, and business—and thereby reducing their burden on the environment.  program early next year, anticipating the switch from Waste Management Inc., its present vendor, to a city--operated program will improve coverage and service.
