D.C.'s Jammin' Oldies - the New 99.5 Names Jeffrey Wyatt Program Director.


WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 6, 1999--

WGAY-FM D.C's Jammin' Oldies Oldies is a generic term commonly used to describe a radio format that usually concentrates on Top 40 music from the '50s, '60s and '70s.

Oldies are typically from R&B, pop and rock music genres.

) station, named 23-year programming veteran Jeffrey Wyatt, Programming Director, it was announced today by Bennett Zier, Vice President and General Manager of the station. The appointment is effective immediately.

In 1998, Mr. Wyatt joined Chancellor Media to create and host the morning show at KCMG-FM (Mega 100) in Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. , one of Chancellor's first Jammin' Oldies stations, which has quickly become one of the area's most popular stations. From 1987 through 1991, he was host of the internationally syndicated radio show `American Dance Traxx'. Between 1992 to 1993 he was the fill-in host for `Rick Dees Weekly Top 40', and substituted for Casey Kasem Kemal Amin "Casey" Kasem (born on April 27 1932, in Detroit, Michigan, U.S., of Palestinian, Lebanese, and Druze heritage) is an Arab-American radio personality and voice actor.  on `American Top 40 with Casey Kasem' from 1991 through 1998. Mr. Wyatt twice received both Billboard's Operations Manager/Program Director of the Year awards and Gavin magazine's Operations Manager/Program Director of the Year awards. He earned his bachelor's degree from Miami University Miami University, main campus at Oxford, Ohio; coeducational; state supported; chartered 1809, opened 1824. The library has extensive collections in literature and American history, including the William Holmes McGuffey Library and Museum and the Edgar W.  in Ohio.
