Children's Pavilion to Showcase Local Talent

and Health Education Activities

AMERIGROUP Maryland, Inc. will showcase local youth talent in the AMERIGROUP Children's Pavilion at the 2000 Black Family Reunion Often an annual event, a family reunion takes place on a specified day each year for the purpose of keeping an extended family closer together. Some reunions may be held less often.  Celebration on Sept. 9 and 10. The Pavilion will be located at 15th & Constitution Avenue and will be open from noon - 6:00 p.m.

AMERIGROUP has teamed up with the D.C. Department of Recreation to program an entertaining and health education-focused, interactive Pavilion for children and their parents.

In addition, the Pavilion will offer education on health and safety topics including drug awareness by McGruff the Crime Dog McGruff the Crime Dog is an anthropomorphic cartoon bloodhound created for the National Crime Prevention Council for use by American police in building crime awareness among children. He debuted in July 1980.[1] The character was created by Sherry Nemmers.  and the D.C. Metropolitan Police; seat belt and bicycle safety by Vince and Lenny, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Crash Dummies; and lead poison and asthma management from AMERIGROUP's health promotion professionals.
