Highly Experienced Banker Joins as Part of Firm's Continued Expansion

GREAT FALLS Great Falls, city (1990 pop. 55,097), seat of Cascade co., N central Mont., second largest city in the state, at the confluence of the Missouri and Sun rivers and near the falls that give the city its name; inc. 1888. , Mont. -- D.A. Davidson & Co., the largest full-service investment firm based in the Northwest, today announced that Jon Gores has joined the company's Fixed Income Capital Markets as Senior Vice President, Public Finance in Seattle. Gores will focus on public education transactions.

Gores joins D.A. Davidson with more than 20 years of experience in public finance, including originating more than 100 Washington school Many schools are named Washington School including:
  • Washington School (Appleton, Wisconsin), listed on the National Register of Historic Places
  • Washington School (Mississippi), Greenville, Mississippi
 district financings over the past five years alone. He has been instrumental in developing financing solutions for specific school district funding needs. Gores' work on behalf of school districts has resulted in the repeal of a law that eliminated the tax-rate spike that districts encounter with a mid-year bond sale. His work also resulted in the passage of House Bill 1832, which allows school districts to use limited general obligation debt for the construction and remodeling remodeling /re·mod·el·ing/ (re-mod´el-ing) reorganization or renovation of an old structure.

Gores will be responsible for growing the K-12 education sector business for D.A. Davidson using his strong relationships and expertise in school district financings.

He joins D.A. Davidson from Seattle Northwest Securities, where he was a vice president in the public finance department and served as manager of the School Finance Group for Washington State schools. He has served on the School Bond Guarantee Program advisory committee and is a member of WASA WASA Water And Sewer Authority
