D-dimer assay.

The Accuclot D-dimer test, a semi-quantitative assay for evaluating disseminated intravascular coagulation, pulmonary embolism, and deep vein thrombosis, measures fibrin D-dimer in human serum or plasma in a maximum time of 3.5 minutes. Based on latex agglutination, the method uses a monoclonal antibody to achieve a sensitivity of 250 ng/mL, according to the manufacturer. The assay is available as a complete kit or as individual components. Positive and negative controls are included in the kit.
