D-Link, an end-to-end networking solutions provider, announced on Thursday (31 January) the launch of the DGS-3100 24-port Layer2 Gigabit Stackable Power over Ethernet Power over Ethernet or PoE technology describes a system to transmit electrical power, along with data, to remote devices over standard twisted-pair cable in an Ethernet network.  (PoE) Switch.

According to the company, the DGS-3100 includes two dedicated HDMI stacking ports, each providing 5Gb/s stacking bandwidth. Up to six units can be stacked up in a linear or ring topology, for up to 20Gb/s overall system bandwidth in full-duplex, bi-directional mode. The switch features 802.3af Power over Ethernet integrated into every switch port, so that any 802.3af compliant device can be powered by the switch via the standard Ethernet cables, to a maximum of 15.4W per device.

The product features multi-layer Access Control Lists (ACLs) and Guest VLAN for users yet to be authenticated. It supports advanced multicast features, Quality of Service (QoS) and bandwidth control, while D-Link Safeguard Engine allows it to remain available in the event of a virus outbreak, the company said.

The switch supports standard-based management protocols such as SNMP, RMON, Telnet, Web GUI and SSH/SSL security authentication.
