THE Taoiseach yesterday begged developers not to take legal action against the new "bad bank" Nama.

Brian Cowen Brian Cowen (Irish: Brian Ó Comhain; born 10 January, 1960) is a senior Irish Fianna Fáil politician and the current Tánaiste of Ireland. said it was in everyone's interest to co-operate with the debt legislation to be unveiled today.

He added Nama was vital to deal with the current financial crisis and said: "It will arrange for an orderly arrangement by which impaired assets can be parked over a much longer time and banks can provide credit for business."

Some developers have already hired lawyers to fight any takeover by the state of their assets.
