D&E Communications Provides Wide Area Network, Internet Access to Boyertown Area School District.

EPHRATA, Pa. -- D&E Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:DECC) has built a wide area network to provide high-speed Internet access to 12 school and administrative buildings in the Boyertown Area School District.

Under the terms of a five-year, $1 million contract, D&E connected six of the district's elementary schools in a fiber-optic network and began supplying the district's Internet access in July 2004. Through its Conestoga Telephone Company subsidiary, D&E previously built a network connecting the district's senior and junior high schools, an elementary school, and its administrative campus buildings.

D&E Jazzd Internet Services is providing a high-speed connection to the high school, and Internet access for all other buildings is supplied through the fiber-optic network. D&E is also monitoring the performance of the district's network and offering troubleshooting and technical assistance to the school's information technology staff as needed.
