D&B information on more than 28 million businesses

Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) announced today that it will offer customers of SAP a service for migrating customer and supplier data from existing legacy systems to SAP's R/3. D&B will also offer R/3 users online access to its U.S. and European databases.

The new service, which is being demonstrated at SAPPHIRE'97 (exhibit 1406-1408), provides companies with clean, up-to-date and well organized customer and vendor master data that can help them reduce business cycle times, lower transaction costs Transaction Costs

and improve responsiveness to customers. The service can also enhance a company's data with D&B value-added business information about customers and suppliers. The D&B information can help companies proactively manage risk, identify new market opportunities and leverage purchasing relationships.

"D&B's extensive knowledge and experience in data integration and maintenance gives our company a definite advantage. For more than 150 years, D&B has been gathering, integrating and managing data on tens of millions of businesses to support decision making in credit, marketing and purchasing," said Frank Fitzsimmons Frank Fitzsimmons (August 7, 1907 – May 6, 1981), was President of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters from Jimmy Hoffa's conditional pardon in 1971 until his own death from cancer in 1981. , senior vice president - Global Electronic Commerce at D&B. "Now SAP customers will have access to D&B's expertise and information to help them leverage their new technology and grow their business."

For many companies, migrating legacy data is a drain on time, money and resources. D&B's service can migrate data in days, eliminate errors and redundancies and provide clean data formatted to their enterprise system.

The D&B D-U-N-S Number, a key component in the company's migration service, is a unique nine-digit number that identifies and links more than 44 million businesses in D&B's global database. The D-U-N-S Number has become a universal business ID that can identify companies by location, industry and country. The D-U-N-S Number also identifies corporate affiliations, linking a parent company to its branches, subsidiaries, divisions and corporate affiliates. It is recognized by the American National Standards Institute See ANSI.
