XACCT Technologies, a leading provider of network data management platform for global communications service providers, today announced that Czech Telecom, the national telecom provider in the Czech Republic, has deployed XACCT's Network-to-Business (N2B(TM)) platform to consolidate the mediation functions for all its IP services including ADSL, VoIP, Wholesale Dial-up, and IP VPN services. With the implementation of XACCT's Network to Business (N2B) Platform, Czech Telecom expects to improve its operational efficiency by reducing operational support costs as well as shorten the time-to market for new services

Over the past two years several carriers, around the globe, have initiated consolidation projects as part of their efforts to reduce OpEx associated with maintaining multiple, custom-developed mediation silos. There is a clear trend to move towards a platform-based approach to solving their mediation needs. XACCT's N2B convergent mediation platform is ideally suited for such consolidation efforts because of it's highly scalable and easily extensible architecture that allows concurrent processing of circuit-switch voice and packet network data on the same platform.

Unified system for Network Data

The Frame Relay, ATM and Leased Circuit data services, along with the Czech Telecom's own IP and integrated services such as IP Connect, IP VPN and IP Call, IOL Dial-up, and IOL Broadband are among the most successful products from Czech Telecom. XACCT provides a single-point interface between the Czech Telecom IP Network and its business support systems, replacing multiple one-off mediation solutions. In the Czech Telecom operations infrastructure, XACCT N2B platform is integrated with Amdocs Ensemble billing system to handle usage information for its retail customers. XACCT is also integrated with Convergys Geneva Billing System to handle usage records for its business customers. This enabled Czech Telecom to deploy a low risk solution because the platform provides all of the functionality required for the mediation of IP services in an off-the-shelf commercial package allowing them to bypass expensive software development and implementation costs that come with customized environments.
