Czech(ing) in with the Gripen.

The Czech Air Force has recently conduced live-fire exercises with Aim-9M Sidewinder missiles with its Jas 39 Gripen C and D multi-role combat aircraft. Eight Sidewinders were fired by a combination of the Gripen and the Aerovodochody L-159 at the Vidsel test range in Sweden--the first time Czech Gripens carried out an exercise outside Czech airspace. The Czech Air Force also tested the gunnery and low-level flying capabilities of the Gripen during the exercise. The Czech Republic signed a ten-year lease agreement for fourteen Gripen aircraft; twelve single- and two two-seater aircraft.
