Cytokine PharmaSciences Names Dennis F. Willson President and CEO; Willson also Appointed to Company Board of Directors.

Cytokine PharmaSciences, Inc., a biopharmaceutical development company in King of Prussia, Pa., announced the promotion of Dennis F. Willson from Vice President, Business Development to President and CEO, effective July 1, 2002.

Mr. Willson also was appointed to the Company Board of Directors. He will succeed Richard P. Storm, with whom he cofounded the company in 1992. Mr. Storm, in keeping with a succession plan that he initiated, will remain with the Company as Vice President, Corporate Development, and will continue as a member of the Board.

Mr. Willson, an attorney, began his pharmaceutical career in 1978 with Abbott Laboratories. He proceeded to rise rapidly in the industry, holding progressively responsible positions in senior management. At Rorer International Pharmaceuticals, Ltd., he was Regional Director, Latin America, and Managing Director of Rorer, S.A., Spain.

He later joined Carrington Laboratories, Inc. as Executive Vice President. Mr. Willson graduated from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and received his undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame.

Cytokine PharmaSciences (www.cytokinepharmasciences.com), which also has offices and a manufacturing facility in Scotland, seeks out biopharmaceutical technologies and novel targets for in-licensing and development into products. It subsequently out-licenses these products to third parties for commercialization.

The Company develops most products based on either its technology platform, a controlled-release drug delivery system, or its expertise in cytokine inhibition. It has successfully licensed worldwide a dinoprostone controlled-release vaginal insert known as Cervidil(R) in the US and Canada, and as Propess(R) elsewhere.

Other products are now in the preclinical, Phase II and Phase III stages of development. The Company is currently engaged in several pharmaceutical partnerships and strategic alliances and is actively looking for licensees and co-development partners for certain compounds and disease targets.
